Jaimie “Jai” is a NW-born and raised, SW-based artist.
Work explores texture, color, and feeling through a polarizing meld of beauty and grotesque in abstract organic landscapes through free association technique.
A messy performance of twisting, sloshing, smooshing, and grinding, using palette knives, sandpaper, brushes, sponges, hands, and guest items create the layers and crusts of the pieces. The body, tension/release, the nervous system/emotion, openness, intimacy, and media and movement exploration are core themes during the mindest of creation.
The primary media used are acrylic and tissue paper.
